En
marzo de 1928 un grupo entusiasta de jóvenes fundó la Sororidad
Universitaria Eta Gamma Delta en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Rio
Piedras. Siendo la primera presidenta Margarita Ortiz Toro La
Sororidad Eta Gamma Delta es una organización de mujeres cuyos objetivos
son mantener firmes vínculos de amistad y compañerismo entre sus miembros;
realizar actividades sociales, cívicas y culturales en beneficio de sus
miembros y la comunidad y desarrollar entre sus miembros el espíritu de
civismo, la cooperación máxima y desinteresada para el Alma Máter y la
comunidad. |

In March 1928 an enthusiastic group of young people founded the Eta Gamma Delta
university sorority at the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. Margarita Ortiz Toro
was the first chairwoman. Eta Gamma Delta sisterhood is a women's
organization whose objectives are to maintain strong ties of friendship
and fellowship among its members, social activities, civic and cultural
benefit of its members and the community and develop among its members the
spirit of citizenship, maximum cooperation and selfless for the alma mater
and community.
